Wigan Athletic has completed the loan signing of Hindolo Mustapha from Crystal Palace. The 19-year-old forward joins Gary Caldwell's side for the 2026-27 League One campaign.
What happened?
Mustapha has gained valuable experience on loan at German club FC Nurnberg and Championship side West Bromwich Albion last season. He is a Crystal Palace academy product since the age of nine and has progressed through every youth level at Selhurst Park.
Why it matters for Wigan Athletic
The signing of Mustapha is a significant boost to Wigan Athletic's squad, currently 16th in League One with 56 points from 46 games, and 47 points behind leaders Lincoln. Mustapha has registered 16 goals and 17 assists in 57 appearances across the Under-18 Premier League and Premier League 2.
What comes next?
Mustapha is excited to get going and show what he can do in a Wigan Athletic shirt, and believes he can kick on and make a significant impact. With 49 goals scored and 58 conceded, Wigan Athletic will be looking to improve their goal difference and push up the league table. As they look to build on their recent form of LLDWW, the addition of Mustapha could be a key factor in their success.
