Wigan Athletic have moved to bolster their backroom department with the appointment of experienced coach Kevin Miller. The 57-year-old joins the club from Exeter City, where he worked with current Wigan Athletic manager Leam Richardson for the last four seasons. Miller made over 700 appearances during his playing career, which included two spells at Exeter City, as well as time with Birmingham City, Watford, Crystal Palace, Barnsley, Bristol Rovers, Southampton, Torquay United, and Newquay. He is set to become the latest figure to swap the south coast for the north west, following in the footsteps of David Perkins, who joined as assistant manager, and Lauren Jones, who was appointed head of performance analyst. Richardson spoke highly of Miller when bringing him to Exeter City in December 2022, saying: 'He's been fantastic since he's been here. We had a thorough interview process where we invited candidates, and he was up against those candidates and he came out on top. I think he's a great addition to the staff that has been changing gradually since I came to the club and he fits in perfectly in terms of his character and personality, but he's also going to add that experience that he's had throughout his career.'
