Wigan Athletic has confirmed three pre-season fixtures as part of their preparations for the 2026/27 Sky Bet League One season. Under the management of Gary Caldwell, the club is set to kick off their pre-season games with a behind-closed-doors match on Saturday, 11 July. The first public match will see Wigan Athletic host Port Vale at the Brick Community Stadium on Saturday, 18 July, with a 1pm kick-off. This match marks an important step in the new era for the club as Caldwell oversees his first pre-season back with Wigan Athletic. Following the match against Port Vale, the Latics will face two opponents over consecutive days. On Friday, 31 July, they will travel to Southport's Haig Avenue for a 7:45pm kick-off, before heading to Grimsby Town's Blundell Park on Saturday, 1 August, for a 3pm kick-off. These fixtures are crucial as Wigan Athletic gears up for their season opener in the First Round of the Carabao Cup. Ticket details for these pre-season matches will be announced in due course.
