Wigan Athletic has confirmed a significant reshuffle in its backroom staff just 24 hours after the departure of sporting director Gregor Rioch. The club has appointed Kevin Miller as the new goalkeeping coach, replacing Tony Warner, while Mike McBride steps in as the new physiotherapist. Both Miller and McBride have previously worked with head coach Gary Caldwell at Exeter City, alongside David Perkins and Lauren Jones, who joined the club earlier this year as assistant manager and lead analyst, respectively. Graham Barrow, a long-time club figure, will transition from his role as club ambassador to become a senior advisor, aiding Caldwell and other staff in various areas, including recruitment and training. Joe Riley will move up from chief scout to head of recruitment, supported by recruitment analysts. Wigan Athletic aims to strengthen its squad ahead of the upcoming League One campaign, with pre-season training set to commence on June 22.
